Despite the weather trying hard to keep us from playing our sport it is heartening to see so many games being played at this time of year. We have National, County, League, Club Competitions and friendlies going on all the time and have seen some great success for our playing members. Well done everyone.
An order has now been made with our Club shirts manufacturer to supply various sizes of shirts so when playing members order their free new shirt they will have a better idea of the fit. The logo for Specsavers has been agreed and this will be included in the sample shirts.
The Management Committee has asked me to remind members that there are dedicated areas for smokers and that smoking is not permitted on the green or areas not designated smoking areas.
We have been fortunate to receive a donation from Cotswold District Council towards the ditch mats that Victor and his team replaced before the start of this season.
I would like to bring to your attention that the DRC Trustees are holding their AGM on Thursday 25 July at 7.30 pm in the Dolphins Hall. If you want to find out more about the progress regarding the Sports Pavilion or show your concern over the condition of the access to the car park or the state of the area behind the fencing in the car park I would encourage you to attend the meeting. The DRC Trustees are our landlords and we have to deal with them on matters relating to our lease. Getting to know who they are and how effective they are is, I think, important for us all as users of the recreational ground.
Just this weekend we held the Mike Bird Trophy competition. Congratulations to Dawn and Chalkie in winning the trophy and thanks to Karen and Roger for organising and running the event.
Finally a big well done to the now almost bald Rich Thomas for having his head shaved by Rob Hatto, and a few members of the audience. Rich was raising funds for our kitchen rebuild project and a local charity.
Good luck in any competitions you are still involved in.
Best wishes
Keith Glassbrook
