Our Junior Section

In May 2021, Tetbury Bowls Club introduced the sport of lawn bowls to young people in the area for the first time. The Junior Section is run by Angela Cary (Level 2 Coach, Safeguarding Officer) and Keith Glassbrook (Level 1 Coach) with other club members assisting when necessary. We are excited to bring the sport to a new generation of players!

STUDENTS! If you live locally, are aged between 9 and under-18, and would like to know more, please contact us at tetburybowls@gmail.com. You will need your parents/guardians' permission to join the club, plus they will need to accompany you while you play.

Opportunities to Play


Once members, juniors will be able to play:

 

  • weekly during their weekend morning 10-11:30 am coaching sessions. The cost is £2 per session including refreshments.​

  • individually or as part of teams in our club competitions

  • on Friday evenings during our social roll ups

  • as part of teams, if selected, for our weekend friendlies

  • in roll ups (practices) on a day and time of their choosing by pre-booking a rink

School Engagement


We have invited a number of local schools to visit our club so that the students can participate in the game along with our offer of four free coaching sessions. Schools invited are:

  • St Mary's Primary School

  • Sir William Romney's

  • Westonbirt School

  • Avening Primary School

  • Crudwell Primary School

  • Leighterton Primary School

  • Rodmarton Primary School

  • Sherston Primary School
